Austin Police Lt. Clay Crabb
An Austin police lieutenant who was on his way to work was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Dripping Springs early Wednesday October 16, officials said.
Lt. Clay Crabb was driving an unmarked police cruiser eastbound on U.S. 290 near Sawyer Ranch Road before 7 a.m. when he hydroplaned, lost control, veered into oncoming traffic and was struck by a red pickup, DPS senior trooper Harpin Myers said.
Lt. Crabb joined the Austin Police Department in July 1998. He served as an Operations Lieutenant. He is survived by his wife and three children, ages 9, 7 and 4. HIs death has affected many in his community and among his first responder family. Our prayers are with everyone whose life he touched.
