This program was established in November 2000 in memory of Hammer, APD mounted patrol horse. The Animal Memorial Program provides K-9 and mounted patrol horses with a proper burial service (similar to our human officers) with full honors. 

The service may include: inscribed gray granite marker (donated by Jeanette Marschall, Hopf Monument Company),  memorial register (donated by Cook Walden Funeral Home), U.S. or Texas flag with memorial case (provided by Michelle Krongerg & Austin Flag and Flag Pole0, ‘TAPS’ on CD and floral spray ($100 value) provided by The 100 Club of Central Texas.
